Good day mom's and mom's-to-be!

For my topic today if you're already a mom then I'm about 100% sure you've went through this, and if you're not yet a one, you will definitely go through it. Sorry, lmao

Let me start by saying that when I became a momma to a newborn I heard it all, "Is he sleeping good? Is he eating enough? He needs a hat. Hes cold. Hes too hot. Make sure he has a blanket. Is he sleeping alone? Hes hungry. He needs a bum change" and so on so fourth. But hardly did I ever hear "How are you doing? Do you need a nap? Do you need advice?" More than often people just assume that we want ALL the information that they have from when they were a mom, which is not particularly true, some of it of course! You know, like the bits and pieces I actually ask for :P

Now before I go to far I do have to mention that I have a wonderful sister-in-law and mother-in-law that were always there for me from day one and still are. So I'm not dissing on them what so ever, if you've had a baby you'll know the kind of people that I'm talking about. haha.

For all you momma's out there that are about to be mothers to newborns please keep in mind that not ALL advice is good. Not ALL recommendations from another mother will work. All baby's are different, would we really like them if they were all the same? Don't let it make you feel down. You are more than welcome to take some advice from your mom, neighbor, bestfriend or the lady at the supermarket seeing you having a hard time, but just know that if their advice didn't work it ISN'T YOUR FAULT. It may have worked with their baby, but wont with yours. You need to find what works the best for your baby, you need to try what your mommy gut feeling tells you to!

I remember being the person that would absorb all this information, every little bit of advice from everyone and it drove me crazy! I would try all kinds of things that didn't work until I really started to think to myself "This is my baby, why am I trying everyone else's ideas, let me think and try my own" I haven't posted my blog about Finn's eating habits yet but this is a perfect example; Everyone (well most people) gave me the third degree about feeding my son purees at 3 1/2 months old. I heard it all, you'll ruin his stomach, he isn't ready, the FDA or what ever it is says to wait till 6 months, he'll get diabetes and blah blah blah. Now I'm not going to elaborate to much because it will be in my next blog, but the point is that I didn't listen to everyone around me, I followed my gut feeling and Finn was a much happier baby!

People will give their advice wanted or un-wanted, you just need to learn to take it in the right ways. You're more than welcome to try everything that everyone tells you but please remember, this is YOUR baby, not there's. No one knows what your baby needs more than you. So keep on keeping on. YOUR DOING GREAT!

P.S. Sometimes it helps to post a funny meme on facebook about that unwanted advice. Some people get the hint and stop sending their input LMAO
